ONGOING EVENTS

PEER TUTORING
Peer tutoring meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Library.  In order to be a member of peer tutoring, you must attend twice a month (NHS and Peer Tutoring requirement).

 

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:45pm

Where: FHS Library

No need to sign up, show up and sign in at the library!

RETHREADS

Rethreads is a community volunteer effort with a mission to provide quality 

clothing to those in need. We are based out of the Fairfield Church of the 

Nazarene and serve Fairfield and its surrounding areas. We open our doors 

four times a year, and spend the rest of our time sorting through donations, 

organizing seasonal clothing, and displaying it all for the next opening.

 

Donations of gently used clothing are always welcome and can be dropped 

off at the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene during our sorting hours.

Volunteer your time during our sorting hours listed below. You can do 

your part by sorting new donations, folding, or straightening clothing 

already on the shelves or racks. 

 

When: Every Saturday, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Where: Fairfield Church of the Nazarene

 

 

FCAC Ushering

Ushers should wear black pants/skirt and black shoes.  You may wear a white, long-sleeved dress shirt if you have one.  If not, wear a plain white t-shirt and a dress shirt will be provided.

 

Admission to see the show is free to ushers but seating is not guaranteed.  Please report to front reception desk to check in upon arrival.

LANE PUBLIC LIBRARY
 

Fairfield Lane Library is looking for general volunteers to help with date-to-day program prep.  Some of these volunteer opportunities include:

 

Adopt-A-Shelf

Book Sorter

Materials Preparation and Maintenance

Special Projects and Events

ANIMAL FRIENDS HUMANE SOCIETY
 

As a volunteer you are free to help on your own time and schedule. You can help out as often as you like, but the more you help the better! All we ask is that you commit to a minimum of 4 hours per month. After going through our orientation, simply show up during our volunteer hours and begin making a difference in the lives of hundreds of animals!

 

Volunteers must attend a short training/orientation session. To find out when our next orientation session is please call our volunteer connection at 513-867-5727. All training/orientation sessions are held at the shelter.

Saturday, May 18

Saturday, June 15

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and must attend the training/orientation session. There are no exceptions to the age requirement. We do not allow children to assist parents with volunteer activities.

 

We Are Currently Seeking…

 

Dog Walkers: Daily exercise and attention for the dogs. This also helps train the dogs to go potty outside.

 

Dog Bathers: Baths for certain dogs so they can be clean and comfortable while waiting for their forever home.

 

Cat Lovers: Holding and brushing the cats/ kittens.

 

PetMobile: Going out into the community with the pet adoption trailer to various public places to do pet adoptions.

 

Foster Volunteers: Loving homes to care for cats/kittens, dogs/puppies until they are ready to be adopted.

 

Office Volunteers: Assist the front office with customer service and answering phones.

 

Transport Volunteers: Help transport animals to adoption centers, PetSmart stores and veterinary clinics.

 

Clinic Volunteers: Assist in our spay/neuter clinic.

 

YMCA
 

Fairfield YMCA is looking for general volunteers to help with an after school program.  You will help entertain kids after school with homework help, crafts, and games.

 

Sign up for your first shift on a Wednesday then arrange other times that would work for you with the YMCA staff.

When: Dates/Times arranged by YMCA staff

Where: Fairfield YMCA, by Village Green

 

 

The Underground
 

Help out at The Underground with concerts and special events. Be a smiling, warm face to greet guest and help at concessions. Great for those interested in music and music production!

When: Friday and Saturday nights. Special occasions

Where: The Underground, 1140 Smiley Ave.
